Watch: Ranbir Kapoor opens up on split with Katrina Kaif in this interview

There has been constant speculation about the reasons for the much-publicised Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif break-up. But from the actors side we only had a deafening silence. Ranbir Kapoor has finally broken the silence in an interview with Rajeev Masand, Entertainment Editor, CNN News18.

In a rare heart-to-heart interview, the Tamasha actor opened up about how important Katrina was to him and how the breakup has affected him.

Speaking about the split Ranbir said, "It was really punctured by lot of things. By baseless rumours and reports and perceptions and point of views. It hurt, because I think after my parents, she’s been the most influential, most motivational entity in my life."

In an Instagram post, Masand shared his experience of interviewing him.

During the interview the actor also spoke about how the failure of his films affects him, he recognised the need to reinvent.

Here's a promo of the interview that will air on CNN News18 on Thursday, 18 August, at 8.30 pm.

It is left to be seen if Katrina will also reveal her version of the split. The former couple will soon be seen together in Anurag Basu's Jagga Jasoos.
