If you think only the Khans of Bollywood have an international fan following, you are wrong. The Rio Olympics saw a Mexican synchronised swimming duo perform their routine to a peppy Akshay Kumar song on 15 August 2016. Here’s the video of the duo:

The Mexican swimming duo of Karem Achach and Nuria Diosdado performed their routine on the song ‘Aila Re Aila’ from Khatta Meetha. The Akshay Kumar film Khatta Meetha hit the screens in 2010 and stars Trisha Krishnan opposite the superstar. The film was a remake of the Malayalam film Vellanakalude Nadu (1988). ‘Aila Re Aila’ is composed by Pritam, sung by Daler Mehndi and Kalpana Patowary. Here’s the song that’s becoming famous again because of the duo’s performance:
The duo ended up at the ninth place, thanks to their brilliant performance and have also qualified themselves for the finals.
