The makers of _Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi_ have dropped the highly-anticipated anthem titled ‘Vijayi Bhava’ today, on 9 January. The song aptly encapsulates the indomitable spirit and the patriotic fervour of Kangana Ranaut’s warrior queen Rani Laxmibai. YouTube screengrab[/caption] The visual spectacle of the song with extravagant sets, exquisite detailing and colours is replete with patriotic lyrics that are designed to rouse audiences. As Rani Laxmibai sheds her adornments preparing herself for battle, Shankar Mahadevan’s voice fills the frame. With her toddler in arms, the queen trains her army of women, formulates battle strategies even as an impending threat from the British colonisers loom large over her head. Vijayi Bhava has been composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy and penned by Prasoon Joshi. The period drama, which is scheduled to hit the cinemas on the Republic Day weekend this year, clashing with Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starrer Thackeray, will focus on Rani Laxmibai’s life and her fight against British colonisers for the independence of her land. Apart from Ranaut, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ features an ensemble cast that includes Jisshu Sengupta as Rani Lakshmibai’s husband Maharaja Gangadhar Rao, Atul Kulkarni as Tatya Tope, Suresh Oberoi as Bajirao 2, and Danny Denzongpa as Ghulam Ghaus Khan and Ankita Lokhane as Jhalkar Bai, among others.
