'Watch Gadar 2, The Kashmir Files': Anil Sharma, Pallavi Joshi 'disappointed' over Naseeruddin Shah's remark

Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah is among those Bollywood celebs who never minces his words and is often in the headlines for such boldness. Recently, the actor has landed himself into trouble after his controversial comments on The Kashmir Files, The Kerala Story and Gadar 2. Naseeruddin Shah said that he is not happy with these films garnering popularity among the audience and finds it ‘disturbing’. A day after his comments, actress Pallavi Joshi and filmmaker Anil Sharma slammed the actor for his statement and urged him to watch the films before commenting and making a perception about them. Pallavi Joshi urges Naseeruddin Shah to watch the film Hours after the reaction of Gadar 2 director Anil Sharma, Vivek Agnihotri’s wife Pallavi Joshi also reacted to the controversial remarks of Naseeruddin Shah. While speaking to ETimes she said, “See, whatever Naseerji says gets circulated on social media. Whatever Naseer saab says about The Kashmir Files, I have only one request for him that he should first watch our film and then say whatever he has to say, maybe then his perspective will change.” She added that The Kashmir Files is not the kind of film that he believes it to be and at this stage in life, she feels that it is not right to believe in what you hear. She also said there’s no maturity to talk about things what one has only heard about. Pallavi Joshi feels hurt by Naseeruddin Shah ’s comments The actress went on to add, “When I talk openly about anything, I always collect all the information related to that subject. If I have to talk about any film, then I will definitely watch the film first. I respect Naseer bhai a lot, he is a very good artist, we have worked together in many films, so I know him well. Now if he comments on my film like this without seeing it, then it hurts, but what to do? The world is like this”. Anil Sharma suggests Naseeruddin Shah to watch Gadar 2 While speaking to Aaj Tak, Gadar 2 director, Anil Sharma slammed Naseeruddin Shah’s for his statement on the film. He said, “I was surprised after reading Naseeruddin’s comments about Gadar 2. Naseer Saheb knows me well and the ideology I belong to. I would like to say that Gadar 2 is not against any community, neither is it against any country. Gadar in itself is a film which is full of patriotism and is a proper masala film.” The filmmaker added, “I have been a fan of his acting. If he has made those statements, then I would like to request him to watch my film once. He will certainly change his opinion. Naseer saab is well-aware that I have always made films with the aim of masala, and never had any political propaganda in this.” What Naseeruddin Shah said During a recent interview with Free Press Journal, Naseeruddin Shah said that he hasn’t watched films like The Kerala Story and Gadar 2 but he knew what they were about. He added that it was disturbing that such films have been so popular instead of those made by Anubhav Sinha, Hansal Mehta and Sudhir Mishra.
