Christian Grey is back.

The trailer for Fifty Shades Darker dropped on Tuesday 12 September 2016 and it features lots of fireworks, masks and six inch heels. Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson reprise their roles as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in the sequel to the 2015 film Fifty Shades of Grey.

A Still from the trailer

This is the adaptation of the second book in EL James’ Shades trilogy, and the film (or the trailer) features many stares.

Anastasia Steele stares at Christian Grey lovingly, and Grey stares at Steele and also the mysterious Elena Lincoln (Kim Basinger)—who, in return, stares at him from behind a masquerade-ball mask.

This is coupled with dialogues like “No rules, no punishments, and no more secrets”, fireworks, a shower scene and a cover of Beyonce’s Crazy in Love performed by Miguel, a R and B artist, who has worked with Beyonce before.  Beyonce herself sang a slowed-down version  for Fifty Shades of Grey in 2015.

The first film made  $571 million worldwide but was criticised mercilessly by critics. It even took home the Worst Film of the Year award, as well as the Worst Screenplay, at the recent Razzies 2016 . Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson also “won” the Worst Actor and Actress award, as well as the Worst Screen Combo.

The new installment is directed by House of Cards’ James Foley, and features appearances from Academy Award-winner Marcia Gay Harden, True Blood’s Luke Grimes, Hannibal’s Hugh Dancy and Rita Ora among others. Here’s the trailer:

The third chapter, Fifty Shades Freed, was filmed back-to-back with Fifty Shades Darker, and will be released in February of 2018.
