Watch — 'Challa', the new song from Uri: The Surgical Strike, shows Vicky Kaushal prepare for impending mission

The first song 'Challa' from Vicky Kaushal's upcoming film Uri: The Surgical Strike  was released by the makers on 24 December. Kaushal shared the song via his official Twitter handle as well.

Shashwat Sachdev has composed the patriotic track as well as provided vocals along with Romy and Vivek Hariharan. Kumaar has penned the lyrics.

Kaushal will play an officer, who led a group of paratroopers in the 2016 surgical strikes following terror attacks on the Indian Army camp in Uri, Kashmir. Reported as "the deadliest attack on security forces in Kashmir in two decades," the pre-planned ambush claimed the lives of 17 army personnel.  He is aided by Yami Gautam, a hard-nosed intelligence officer.

The video of 'Challa' shows a determined Kaushal as he trains with his troops and strategises for the impending mission as well as montages of the soldiers in action.

Kirti Kulhari makes a brief appearance in the music video. Paresh Rawal and Mohit Raina are also part of the film's cast.

Directed by Aditya Dhar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Uri scheduled to hit the theatres on 11 January, 2019.
