War 2 box office: Despite negative reviews & social media trend, Hrithik Roshan-Jr NTR starrer reaches closer to Rs 200 crore club

Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani starrer War 2 released at the box office amid high expectations; however, due to immense negative trend on social media and reviews, the spy-action-thriller underperformed at the ticket windows.

While the underwhelming response is disheartening for Bollywood, it is quite irritating to see some of the ‘so-called’ trade experts and influencers writing off just to get maximum mileage on social media.

In 5 days, War 2 raked in around Rs 194 crore (in all languages) and is expected to enter the Rs 200 crore mark by today or tomorrow at the ticket windows.

The film will be the 3rd highest grosser of the year after Chhaava and Saiyaara, but will be termed as an underperformer due to its insane budget.

War 2 is directed by Ayan Mukerji of Wake Up Sid, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Brahmastra fame (all three featured Ranbir Kapoor in lead roles). It also features Kiara Advani and Ayan Mukerji in key roles. It is the sixth film in the YRF Spy Universe after Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan and Tiger 3.
