VJ Bani, whose claim to fame is starring in and hosting the MTV show Roadies, has since then become a model, actress, and most prominently a fitness advocate. She was recently launched in Honey Singh’s film Zorawar (2016) and has been part of a Nike campaign featuring 12 athletes. She often documents her fitness routine on her Snapchat and Instagram accounts and has a 300,000 huge fan following. Impressive, right? Not more body shamers though. In a recent interview with HT Brunch, Bani, aka Gurbani Judge highlighted the heavy stream of criticism she faced for having what her critics say is an ‘overtly muscular body’. The emphasis seems to be not on the fact that she is really fit, but sadly on the fact that her muscles and abs are too manly. She says, “I still remember a well-known casting director who asked me if I had become a man yet; had I grown a penis yet?” Bani manages to give it back in the interview. To sum it up, she says " I am happy that I am able to showcase the extent of body transformation women too can do. It’s all within us. Not in other people’s minds. So listen to your own self, always.
