Viswasam trailer: Thala Ajith is the highlight of director Siva's energetic action-entertainer

This Pongal, looks like Kollywood will experience one of the biggest box office clashes in recent times, with Thala and Thalaivar taking centre stage. Ajith’s Viswasam and Rajinikanth’s Petta are set to release on Pongal 2019 and after Petta’s trailer, the internet is buzzing with Viswasam’s. [caption id=“attachment_4473049” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  Thala Ajith in Viswasam.[/caption] The Viswasam trailer give us a two-minute glimpse of Ajith, Nayanthara and Jagapathy Babu in the film. Going by the trailer, Viswasam seems to be an out-and-out entertainer loaded with punch lines. In this first official trailer, we are introduced to Ajith as Thookudurai, a violent don of sorts of Theni. The actor is mostly seen in veshtis and plain shirts, with a salt-and-pepper look. Ajith seems to pull off everything that his fans are awaiting to see on the big screen. Further into the trailer we see flashes of a goofy romance between Ajith and Nayanthara. Finally, we have the actor locking horns with Jagapathy Babu, playing the antagonist/ big shot-business man who has set eyes on the town that Ajith guards with all his life. Let’s be real, Siva’s upcoming film is like every action-drama-entertainer ever and Jagapathy Babu’s role is a throwback to the many similar roles he’s done in Kollywood and Tollywood in the recent past. But it is Ajith’s energy and punch lines, accompanied by D Imman’s uplifting beats that make us anticipate the entertainer. Viswasam also brings back the celebrated combination of Siva and Ajith. The director-actor duo, with this film, mark their fourth consecutive release, after Veeram (2014) Vedalam (2015) and Vivegam (2017). The much hyped film presented by Sathya Jyothi Films is all set to hit screens in January 2019.
