It is being speculated that Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan’s period gangster film may have found a release date. The film, which is written by Vishal Bhardwaj and will be directed by Honey Tehran, may release on 2 October, 2018, as repoted by Indian Express.
This untitled film will explore the life of the notorious female don Rahima Khan, also known as Sapna Didi, who is known for attempting to kill Dawood Ibrahim.
Padukone will reportedly be playing the protagonist. Khan, on the other hand, will play a local gangster in the film.
The film is based on Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai.
Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted out the information regarding the release date of the film. Here’s his tweet:

No confirmation has been given for this news by either the actors, or director. This film will mark Bhardwaj’s fifth collaboration with Irrfan following Maqbool, the 2011 dark thriller Saat Khoon Maaf, the 2014 crime drama Haider and the 2015 crime drama Talvar in which Bhardwaj was the writer. Also, this will be Padukone’s second collaboration with Irrfan after Shoojit Sircar’s 2015 slice of life drama Piku.
