After ending a successful stint on the controversial reality show Bigg Boss 17, Ankita Lokhande was already set for her next project. Taking to her social media handle, the Pavitra Rishta actress announced her next project, confirming that she would feature in Randeep Hooda’s upcoming film ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar,’ thus marking her return to the big screen.
She plays the role of Yamunabai in the film and some of her stills from the film have gone viral and the actress seems to have sunk into the role she will be seen in.
On Tuesday, 30 January, Ankita while sharing a short teaser of the biopic also confirmed the film’s release date- March 22.
As soon as Ankita shared the post on Instagram, fans took to the comment section and congratulated her. A user wrote, “Salman rightly said that apke project aa bhi Jayenge bakiyo ka kaam start bhi nhi hoga,” while another one wrote, “Woahhhh best wishes ankyyy. excited for this one!!!"

The upcoming biopic is said to be a film on a “compelling odyssey, bringing to life the legendary yet neglected tale of Swatantrya Veer Savarkar – a visionary, and a firebrand.”
Backed by Zee Studios, Anand Pandit, Randeep Hooda, Sandeep Singh & Yogesh Rahar, the film is co-produced by Roopa Pandit, Sam Khan, Anwar Ali, Panchali Chakraborty.
Besides Randeep Hooda and Ankita Lokhande, it also features actor Amit Sial in prominent roles. Swatantrya Veer Savarkar will be released on 22 March 2024, in Hindi and Marathi.
