Vikrant Massey recalls Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘childlike’ joy at National Awards ceremony: 'I am wearing the...'

The 71st National Awards ceremony, which recently took place at Vigyan Bhavan, was not only a star-studded affair but also filled with heartwarming moments. The Badshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, won his first-ever National Award for Best Actor for his portrayal in Jawan after entertaining the audience for over three decades. While he shared the trophy with Vikrant Massey for his superlative act in 12th Fail, Rani Mukerji also bagged her first National Award for Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway.

Now, Massey recalled SRK’s sweet and ‘childlike’ gesture after accepting the award (medal), which will melt your heart.

“Childlike is the word! It was so inspiring to see Rani ma’am and Shah Rukh sir still maintain that quality after so much success," Massey said while talking to ANI.

“When Shah Rukh came back and said, ‘Main to yeh award pehen rahaa hu (I am wearing the medal),’ we all joined in. Then he said, ‘Haan pehente hain. Kyu nahi (Yes, why not)?’" he added.

Starring mega Pan-India superstars Shah Rukh Khan , Nayanthara, and Vijay Sethupathi, the Atlee directorial narrated the story of a man driven by a personal vendetta to rectify the wrongs in society while fulfilling a promise made years ago. He comes up against a monstrous outlaw with no fear, who has caused immense suffering to many. Shah Rukh Khan, seen in a dual role as both father and son, delivered an exceptional performance and won the National Award for Best Actor at the 71st National Film Awards. The film also won another National Award for Best Female Playback Singer, awarded to Shilpa Rao for Chaleya.
