Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi’s great grandson Manu Ranjith got engaged to Kollywood actor Vikram’s daughter Akshita in Chennai on Sunday. Manu Ranjith belongs to the Ranganathan family that run Cavin Kare’s Bakery in the city. Held in an upscale Chennai hotel, it was a traditional low- key event attended only by the couple’s friends and relatives. Among those in attendance was Kollywood director S Shankar of Robot fame and producer and actor Udhayanidhi Stalin, also a relative of Manu Ranjith. The couple were in a relationship for quite some time now and are all set to tie the knot. Though the marriage date has not been decided yet, reports suggest that the big day will be sometime next year.
