Vikram Vedha trailer: Encounter cop R Madhavan chases criminal Vijay Sethupathi in this crime thriller

Vikram Vedha is the upcoming project of South cinema stars R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupati, directed by Pushkar and Gayathri, and produced by Y NOT Studios. It is a neo-noire action crime thriller. The film’s title is a reference to the duo’s names — while Madhavan plays an encounter cop called Vikram, Sethupathi plays a gangster called Vedha. This film marks the first collaboration between these two actors. Image from Facebook[/caption] The plot of the film is centered on the duo’s interactions when their paths cross, and Vikram’s pursuit of the criminal. It is said to be inspired by a folk tale involving Vikramaditya. The trailer of Vikram Vedha was released by Shah Rukh Khan and others from the South cinema fraternity, like Siva Karthikeyan. It has a raw, gritty feel, and portrays Madhavan as a police officer who has shades of grey as a character. The music of the film has been produced by Sam CS. It also features Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Kathir and John Vijay in pivotal roles. The release date of the film is 7 July, 2017. Madhavan made a comeback to Tamil films with Irudhi Suttru. He will be seen next in the Tamil remake of Malayalam film Charlie, Chanda Mama Door Ke, and Gramophone, among other films. Sethupati, on the other hand, will play a tribal leader in Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren, and will also star in Karuppan and Seetha Kathi. Watch the trailer here:
