Thalapathy 63, Vijay and director Atlee's third collaboration after Theri and Mersal, had its launch in Chennai on 20 January. Nayanthara will also be seen opposite the actor in the yet-untitled sports drama after a decade.

The film will be produced by Kalpathi S Aghoram, Kalpathi S Ganesh and Kalpathi S Suresh of AGS Entertainment, writes The New Indian Express. Creative producer Archana Kalpathi shared a photograph from the launch, where a pooja was held.

According to The News Minute, Kathir of Pariyerum Perumal-fame, veteran comedian Vivek, Anand Raj, Daniel Balaji and Yogi Babu will be seen in pivotal roles as well. AR Rahman will score the music for the Vijay-starrer after working with him in films like DhayaAzhagiya Tamizh MaganMersal and Sarkar.

Vijay may be seen as a coach and is currently training with professionals for his role, states The News Minute. He is also expected to lose weight for the character, a first in his long career.
