Vidya Balan slams reports of marital trouble, says she's happy with Siddharth

Vidya Balan has always made headlines for her performances, but for the past few months it’s her personal life that has been under the media scanner, with several reports claiming that her marriage with MD of Disney India Siddharth Roy Kapur is on the rocks. However, the actress in an interview to Hindustan Times denied the reports and said that there is " no chink in the armour" and all’s well between them.

Rumour mills had it that the actress was very upset over her husband’s proximity with a female colleague in Disney and had to cancel Sujoy Ghosh’s film to stay at home. Reportedly, Kapoor had been promoting a newbie he has been involved with and that didn’t go down well with Balan.

However, when Balan was asked about these reports, she slammed them. The actress told Hindustan Times that, “I have no desire to comment on the structure of Disney. (Siddharth is the managing director of Disney India). I don’t know who these references are to, firstly, so I think it’s a figment of someone’s imagination. At a time when the country is wondering who’s going to be the next Prime Minister, I must admit it feels important that there is enough space being created for Siddharth and me.”

The actress also did not attend the IIFA Awards ceremony and Melbourne Film Festival this year despite being its face. While  there was much conjecture about the reasons for her absence, the Kahaani star blames it on her bad health.

Balan said that she has been suffering from a ’niggling health issue’ due to which she had to quit Ghosh’s film and also skip IIFA and Melbourne Film Festival.  While the actress is not ready to divulge any details about the health issue, she said that she felt that it had reached a point where it cannot be delayed and so she had to walk out of Sujoy Ghosh’s film and although Ghosh is understandably unhappy, all is well between them.

The actress also slammed the media and said that the press has always come up with something or the other — from pregnancy stories to her being unprofessional  and she has never felt the need to clarify. Defending her husband she said, being an actress she is used to such false reports about her, but it isn’t fair to make Kapoor a subject of such untrue reports.
