Vidhu Vinod Chopra returns to direction with Vikrant Massey’s 12th Fail. The makers have unveiled the new song from the film called Restart and the spirit of the film and the song is all about not giving up. The team launched the Restart song at a college event in Ahmedabad among thousands of cheering students. The anthem beautifully captures the spirit of the youth as well as their dreams, and conveys the subject of the film to never lose hope but to start again and again. The song is now streaming on all the major music platforms.
12th Fail, based on a true story, draws from the struggles of the millions of students who attempt the UPSC entrance exam. But at the same time, it goes beyond that one exam and encourages people to not lose heart in the face of failure and to restart. 12th Fail, directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra , is set to release worldwide on October 27 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada. Chopra has directed films like Khamosh, Parinda, 1942- A Love Story, Kareeb, Mission Kashmir, Eklavya- The Royal Guard, and Broken Horses. In an exclusive interview with Firstpost few years back, the filmmaker spoke about his influences and inspirations and he revealed, “There are a lot of young people who I reach out to. I won’t name him but I saw a trailer today, and I called him. He’s a first-time director. I really like that trailer. I like as much as I can. If I see good work, I go out of my way to praise that. Because I think it’s my duty as a successful filmmaker to spot talent, praise and encourage it so that it doesn’t die an early death in the mediocrity of Hindi cinema. In the world of mediocrity of Hindi cinema, talent is a sapling. It needs to be nurtured, and nurtured more because the surrounding is very harsh and mediocre.”
