New Delhi: Vicky Donor, a film made with an unique concept, was a runaway success and its lead actor Ayushmann Khurrana says even though the film was not sent for the jury’s consideration for the Oscar shortlist, he is glad the movie was talked about. Shortly after Anurag Basu’s Barfi! was announced as India’s official entry for the Oscar’s best foreign film category this year, “Vicky Donor” director Shoojit Sircar had loudly expressed his displeasure at its producers not sending it for the jury’s consideration. For me, it is enough that people are still discussing about the film. I don’t expect much more.” There was much brouhaha over the selection of Barfi! as some of the scenes in the film are reportedly copied frame-by-frame from Hollywood projects. Meanwhile, Ayushmann is busy completing work on Rohan Sippy’s Nautanki Saala, in which he plays a theatre actor. He is also hoping to assist Sircar on Jaffna, but considering his packed schedule, Ayushmann feels he will only be able to do so for “five to six” days. IANS
