Two and a Half Men's finale: Tweeple react to the absence of Charlie Sheen in last episode

After 12 years of being on air, the hit show Two and a Half Men has finally wrapped up. The series, which originally starred bad-boy Charlie Sheen pretty much being himself, (Sheen was later killed off on the show and replaced by Ashton Kutcher) had quite a sly twist in the end. As we had noted in an earlier report, the show’s writers led viewers to believe that Charlie Sheen would making an appearance in the finale. Charlie’s brother Alan Harper (played by Jon Cryer) and Walden (played by Ashton Kutcher) are now worried that Charlie who has escaped from Rose’s prison will seek revenge on them. In the end, though Charlie never really comes and we see a body-double standing outside Charlie’s beach house before a piano falls on his head. The show also had a weird ‘vanity card’ at the end with co-creator Chuck Lorre explaining that Sheen had been offered the role of Crushed Charlie in the episode, but said that Sheen had other ideas for how it should go. Lorre then invoked one of Sheen’s notorious slogans, “Winning,” from his director’s chair as he savoured the scene, then dropped a piano on himself. Below are tweets of a few key moments from the show’s season final and what Charlie Sheen tweeted out during finale.

Of course many fans were hoping to see Charlie Sheen. Some pointed out on Twitter how the show had been a hit because of the actor, who pretty much played his real-life image of being a playboy and alcoholic in the series.
