With Valentine’s Day approaching soon, lovebirds are planning to surprise their respective partners with precious gifts. However, when a couple is married for over twenty years, what would they gift to each other? While most of us would go blank on the question, Twinkle Khanna has come up with a quirky response to the same while also explaining her version of love. She also does not shy away from expressing her opinions about the special day to celebrate love. Sharing her hilarious approach to consumerism surrounding Valentine’s Day, Twinkle Khanna dropped a post on her Instagram handle in which she wrote, “With all its consumerism, Valentine’s Day perhaps makes the abstraction of love more concrete.” She further revealed the bitter truth about what women get on Valentine’s Day and added, “Though if you ask women who have been married for over a decade, the most honest answer to ‘What did your husband give you on Valentine’s Day?’ would be, ‘As usual, a headache. Love, in fact, may be the ultimate thought experiment. It’s a paradox where accepting each other’s flaws creates an imperfectly perfect connection, with or without wilting red roses and an Archie’s card featuring two cartoon hearts winking at each other.”
Needless to mention, Twinkle Khanna has been married to Akshay Kumar since 2001. The couple is proud parents to two children - Aarav and Nitara. It was only a few days back when the couple celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary in London. Coincidentally, the same day, Twinkle also graduated after completing a Masters in Fiction Writing at the Goldsmiths, University of London. Twinkle Khanna left her acting career to become an author. In 2015, Twinkle wrote her first non-fiction book, Mrs Funnybones. Her second book was titled The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad, a collection of short stories.
