While many women across the country observed a day long fast praying for their husbands’ long life, Twinkle Khanna had a sarcastic take on Karva Chauth. Khanna, who is married to Akshay Kumar, shared her view on the age-old tradition on Twitter:
These days by 40 u could be on the way to your 2nd marriage so what's the point of fasting-don't need the men to last that long anymore:)

She immediately received some negative reactions for her tweet:
@Sahibaliscious what if it works out n he died coz u didn't fast ....optimism n positive thinking missing

Not one to be offended, Mrs Funnybones had a witty response to that as well:
That is a possibility-so I checked longevity records-100 countries where men without anyone fasting for them live longer than Indian men:) https://t.co/rBspyZDzni

The actress is known for her sense of humour and has formerly also spoken about Karva Chauth in her book Mrs Funnybones. “I scan the list, confident that in this chart of life expectancy, the Indian man must definitely be in the top 5. Nope! There are 146 countries above us where the men have longer lifespans, and the biggest blow is that even with four wives who don’t fast for them, the Arab men outlive our good old Indian dudes,” The Indian Express quotes from her book. Here are some others from Twitter who did not get her sense of humour.
के ट्वीट से प्रतीत होता है की वो ऐसी बेशर्म महिला है जो चाहती है कि उसके पति की आयु लंबी न होhttps://t.co/KvytbPcP5u
