In a previous report , Firstpost had declared figures of Kabir Khan’s Salman Khan-starrer after it completed a week at the box-office post its release on 23 June.  The film hasn’t been able to create the buzz and madness that Salman Khan films are usually known for. Although, the film has crossed the 100-crore benchmark, trade analysts also point out that single screen theatre owners, the biggest beneficiaries of Salman’s films, have incurred major losses all across the country. Also Read: Tubelight box office collection week 1: Salman's film crosses Rs 100 cr but distributors face losses Film critic Ramesh Bala tweeted on 29 June that Salman’s Eid release has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark and stands at Rs 105.86 crore on its seventh day as far as the domestic collection is concerned.

Not only in India, but the collections overseas also seem dismal. According to a report by boxofficetimes.com, Tubelight has collected around Rs 39 crore till the second Friday (30 June). While the domestic gross collection rounds up to Rs 177.14 crore the film’s worldwide gross collection has reached Rs 197 crore in 8 days. The entertainment website also reported the numbers for day 8 and 9:
Friday (Day 1): Rs 21.15 cr, Saturday (Day 2): Rs 21.17 cr, Sunday (Day 3): Rs 22.45 cr, Monday (Day 4): Rs 19.09 cr, Tuesday (Day 5): Rs 12 cr, Wednesday (Day 6) Rs 6.50 cr, Thu (Day 7): Rs 4.50 cr, Friday (Day 8): Rs 3 cr, and Saturday (Day 9): Rs 3.35 cr. All this sums up to a total of Rs 113.21 cr
Tubelight is an official remake of Hollywood project Little Boy. The film also features Sohail Khan, Zhu Zhu, Matin Rey Tangu, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, and late actor Om Puri in key roles. Shah Rukh Khan also made a special appearance in the film as a magician Gogo Pasha. Salman will next be seen in Ali Abbas Zafar’s upcoming Tiger Zinda Hai which is an official remake of 2012 blockbuster Ek Tha Tiger which was directed by Kabir Khan.
