Trisha to make her Malayalam debut opposite Nivin Pauly; film to be directed by Shyamaprasad
Trisha also forayed into Hindi films with Priyadarshan's 2010 comedy Khatta Meetha opposite Akshay Kumar
After her short-lived foray into Hindi cinema back in 2010 with Priyadarshan's comedy Khatta Meetha, Tamil sensation Trisha is all set to make her Mollywood debut now.
Sify reports that the actress has signed her first film in Malayalam, to be directed by the National Award-winning filmmaker Shyamaprasad. In a strong author-backed role, she will be cast opposite the Malayalam superstar Nivin Pauly.
Trisha seems to be on a roll and a film signing spree after her last success in Kodi, directed by R S Durai Senthilkumar. She was lauded across all quarters for her brilliant performance in a negative role.
Bollywood Life reports that the actor has at least four huge films in her kitty. She has recently finished filming for Ramana Madhesh's horror thriller Mohini in which she will play a chef, and also a ghost. She surprised everyone when she appeared in a goddess avatar in the first look of the film which is slated to release next month. She will share screen space with Hindi actor Jackky Bhagnani in Mohini.
Her second project is the sequel of Sathuranga Vettai, her superhit Tamil thriller from 2014. She will be seen opposite Arvind Swamy in the sequel. The third project is the Tamil remake of Navdeep Singh's Hindi directorial NH-10. She will play the Tamil counterpart of Anushka Sharma's character in the remake which will be a thriller titled Garjanai. Along with these major projects, she also has an untitled film opposite Vijay Sethupathi.
Thus, it is clear that Trisha's platter is full. While she has no dearth of big Tamil film offers, she is also keen on experimenting with other languages, given her past foray into Khatta Meetha opposite Akshay Kumar and now her Malayalam film with Pauly.
