Star Wars fans rejoice! The seven minute long preview of animated TV series, Star Wars Rebels, was launched online recently and from the look of things, you are all set to return to the era of the classic Star Wars trilogy. Produced by Lucasfilm and Disney, Star Wars Rebels, based on George Lucas’ multibillion dollar film franchise, will be set in the two decades between the events of the third and fourth films (Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope) when the Galactic Empire became a dominant force in the galaxy.

Produced by Lucasfilm and Disney, Star Wars Rebels, based on George Lucas’ multibillion dollar film franchise, will be set in the two decades between the events of the third and fourth films (Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope) when the Galactic Empire became a dominant force in the galaxy. [caption id=“attachment_1652721” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Courtesy: Facebook Courtesy: Facebook[/caption] The series will show a band of rebels who have been effected by the Empire and will follow them on their journey as they board a spaceship called Ghost. In the preview, we see the Empire tightening its grip and becoming autocratic – it asks for identifications from everyone and wants all tradesmen registered. If anyone dares to raise their voice against the imperial army, theyare instantly arrested. However, a few rebels and a kid take on the army and soon we get to see a cat-and-mouse chase between the rebels and the army. The series features the voices of  Steve Blum as Zeb Orrelios, Taylor Gray as Ezra Bridger, Vanessa Marshall as Hera Syndulla, David Oyelowo as Agent Kallus, Freddie Prinze Jr as Kanan Jarrus, Tiya Sircar as Sabine Wren and Jason Isaacs as The Inquisitor. The animated series will premiere on the Disney Channel and will be shown across Disney XD channels around the world from October onwards. Watch the video here:
