Trailer: Sushant, Parineeti's crackling chemistry in 'Shuddh Desi Romance'

Like several other Yash Raj Films trailers, Shuddh Desi Romance makes for a goodlooking promo - from Sushant’s Singh’s boyish grin to the kitschy illustrations in pop colours introducing the characters, it rocks in the looks department. Add to that a spunky Parineeti Sharma and unabashedly corny dialogues - you get a winner of a trailer in hand. [caption id=“attachment_949017” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] A screengrab from the Shuddh Desi Romance trailer.[/caption] The new trailer of Maneesh Sharma’s film comes close on the heels of three other dialogue-less ones which introduced the three primary characters to the tunes of the popular Doordarshan song Ek Chiriya, Anek Chiriya. This trailer gives us a better idea of what the film might be about. Going by the exchanges, it seems that Shuddh Desi Romance is about the confusing lines between love, attraction and infatuation. Parineeti Chopra plays her spunky self while Sushant Singh Rajput tries his hand at a character very different from his Kai Po Che debut one. His character Raghu seems to be that of a street-smart small town boy who makes no bones about the compulsions of his hormones. Debutante Vaani Kapur as Taraa holds her own against the two looking every bit the stunning Indian middle class girl acutely conscious of her own charms and unapologetic about her sexuality. From the funny dialogues to the small town setting, the film is a quintessential Maneesh Sharma one. Here’s hoping the film is as entertaining as its trailer. Watch trailer here:
