Trailer out: Bewakoofiyaan looks boring, despite Sonam in a bikini

The trailer of Bewakoofiyan is out and although you get a sneak peek of  Sonam Kapoor in a hot pink bikini the rest of the trailer seems bland and full of cliches. The trailer begins by telling us that Mohit Chadda’s (Ayushmann Khurrana) life is perfect. He is great at his job as a senior executive of a firm and has a ‘hot and intelligent’ girlfriend Mayera (Sonam Kapoor) who loves him dearly. One day, he gets down on his knee and pops the question. She agrees. A diamond ring seals the deal and the two are engaged. [caption id=“attachment_1378287” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  Courtesy: Facebook[/caption] However, Mohit’s life turns into a nightmare when he meets Mayera’s stern father (Rishi Kapoor) who refuses to marry his daughter off with someone who makes less money than her. While Mohit tries his best to please Mayera’s dad, like in all rom-coms, things don’t turn out the way he plans. To make the situation worse, recession hits India and Mohit is laid off. Fearing that Mayera’s dad would say no to the wedding if he knew Mohit was jobless, the couple make up one story after the another to save their relationship. This is the first time that Sonam Kapoor and Ayushmann Khurrana come together as an onscreen pair and while the two look good together and make a fun pair, if the trailer is anything to go by, their characters are cliched. Ayushmann plays the nice guy stuck in a bad situation for the second time after Nautanki Sala. Sonam Kapoor plays the role of  working girl in the corporate section so chances are with Bewakoofiyan one will get a glimpse of a working girl’s wardrobe if nothing else. Bewakoofiyaan, written by Habib Faisal and directed by Nupur Asthana (of Mujhse Fraanship Karoge) is slated to release on 14 March, 2014. Watch the trailer of the film here:
