Despite not being a part of any rat race in showbiz, Vikrant Massey has emerged as one of the finest talents the entertainment industry has seen in the past two decades. Acting is the only thing Vikrant ever wanted to do. In a career spanning more than 15 years, the actor transcended boundaries with his impressive acting prowess. A charismatic performer, Vikrant’s journey to make his name in Bollywood is as captivating as his talent. Born on April 3, 1987, Massey grew up in Mumbai. It was after watching the late actor Irrfan Khan performing in films that Massey started developing an interest in acting. Back in 2007, he started his stint as an actor with a TV show called Dhoom Machaao Dhoom. It aired on Disney Channel India. This first major acting stint landed him the opportunity to feature in television shows such as Dharam Veer, Balika Vadhu, and Baba Aiso Varr Dhoondo, among others. Later, after his appearance in ZEE TV’s Qubool Hai, Massey who always dreamed of working in films, got his big break in Bollywood in 2013. His debut film was Lootera, starring Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead. Massey proved his versatility with his performance in the film where he played Dev. Post Lootera, Massey was unstoppable as he went on to sign numerous projects including Dil Dhadakne Do (2015), A Death in the Gunj (2016), Lipstick Under My Burkha (2016), and Chhapaak (2020). In an industry that can be ruthless and unforgiving, Massey felt that he was being underutilised due to coming from televise background. In a bid to prove his detractors wrong, the actor worked very hard. In the aftermath, he bagged his first film as a lead. It was titled A Death In The Gunj. His performance in the film won him the Filmfare Award for Best Actor. On the web show front, Massey left an indelible mark on the OTT platforms after he played a pivotal character in the series Mirzapur, Broken But Beautiful, Made In Heaven, Criminal Justice, and Broken But Beautiful - Season 2. It has been a decade since Vikrant Massey’s first film was released. After 10 years of hard work, he bagged the biggest film of his career _12th Fail_. Directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the film emerged as a bonafide success and Vikrant Massey got the stardom that he truly deserved.
