Top Gun: Maverick is a rare sequel that is arguably better than the original, especially how it sneaks in the fan service without drawing any attention. And Glen Powell, who starred in the film, has spoken about how his bank account was depleting prior to the release of the blockbuster. The actor played Lt. Jake “Hangman” Seresin.

While speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Powell said, “I’d never made any significant amount of money on a movie, including ‘Top Gun,’ and I was depleting a bank account to a point where my accountant was like, ‘This pandemic cannot last much longer."

“Tom was already Tom; I was waiting for my life to change,” he added.
