Siddharth-Garima, the writer duo who penned the 2013 Sanjay Leela Bhansali film Goliyon Ki Raasleela-Ramleela and more recently Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha are reportedly working on their next project which will be a social-drama. Titled Saale Aashiq, the movie revolves around a Khap Panchayat and a couple that has eloped and is on the run.

Saale Aashiq is about standing up to the hate politics, age-old traditions and an eventual death threat as a couple faces opposition from their respective families. The director of the film will be announced soon,” said an unverified source, according to a Mumbai Mirror report.

The film will reportedly go on floors by the end of 2018 and Siddharth-Garima are currently on a recce in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh as they research for the movie. The pair is also apparently interacting with real-life couples that are on the run and hiding from various panchayat’s, to help them prepare better for the film, according to the same Mumbai Mirror report. The script for this Bunty Walia-Ajay Kapoor production is currently in the works.

Siddharth and Garima will also be making their directorial debut soon with a film titled Jasmine for which they have penned the script as well. Jasmine is expected to go on floors in March-April and the movie reportedly revolves around a women who acts as a surrogate but ends up getting attached to the child she carries in her womb and doesn’t want to let go of the infant.
