Tintin's 90th anniversary may see Peter Jackson helm upcoming film backed by Steven Spielberg

Tintin, the popular adventurer and reporter, recently turned 90 on 10 January. The favourite adventure series created by Hergé features the young man with his pet dog Snowy. Fans may well have another good news in media reports stating that Peter Jackson is developing the next Tintin film, which will be bankrolled by Steven Spielberg. Casterman, the publishers of Tintin comic books, is said to have reported the news. YouTube screengrab[/caption] Tintin’s last outing on the silver screen came in the way of a 2011 Steven Spielberg directorial which was co-produced by Jackson. The feature was adapted from three of Hergé’s comic books on Tintin — The Crab with the Golden Claws, The Secret of the Unicorn and Red Rackham’s Treasure. Though there is no official confirmation on the books being adapted from this time, the narrative may be driven by the stories of King Ottokar’s Sceptre and The Calculus Affair.  Benoit Mouchart, Editorial Director, Casterman stated that in general, trilogies in Hollywood have the second film as quite dark. Going by those standards, an episode set in Syldavia was a good probability. Casterman, a Belgian publishing house, also declared that the new Tintin book will soon come out on stands. Titled Le Thermozero, the narrative is based on a story which Hergé abandoned in 1960 after completing Tintin in Tibet. Le Thermozero may well release this year.
