Thrissivaperoor Kliptham teaser: Fierce Aparna Balamurali outshines Asif Ali, Chemban Vinod Jose
The backdrop of Thrissur plays a huge part in Asif Ali and Aparna Balamurali-starrer Thrissivaperoor Kliptham.
If the teaser of Thrissivaperoor Kliptham is anything to go by, the film will be a fast-paced action drama where the paths of six characters, who have known each other since school, cross. In school, four of these characters were just young boys who got into fist fights, but fast-forward into the future, and they turn formidable, power-wielding adults.
Speaking about the film, Asif Ali said, "It's more of a commercial film based on the lifestyle of people in Thrissur." He plays a character called Girijavallabhan. Aparna Balamurali, on the other hand, plays a auto-rickshaw driver called Bhagirathi in the film.
Thrissivaperoor Kliptham is directed by Ratheish Kumar and written by PS Rafeeque. It also features Chemban Vinod Jose, Baburaj and Shilpi Sharma in the main roles. It is produced jointly by Fareed Khan and Shaleel Azeez under the banner of Whitesands Media House.
It is Shilpi Sharma's debut in Malayalam cinema, and she performs a pole dance in the film. "At first, I felt a bit uneasy about it and was wondering, 'Oh my God, how can I do it in a Malayalam film.' Moreover, there was a decent-sized crowd at the location. But then, I just garnered courage and decided to go for it," she said about the experience of filming the pole dance.
The city of Thrissur plays a huge part in the film. Speaking to Deccan Chronicle about the location, Cinematographer Swaroop Philip said, "The place has a vintage feeling... The old buildings, streets and markets in Thrissur would really excite us. The architecture is beautiful. Thrissivaperoor Kliptham is a local movie and so the frames were set like that. When you shoot in a place, you need to mould the available elements of that place in tune with the story of the movie."
