Thor: Ragnarok could be Marvel's shortest movie ever, with a run-time of 100 minutes

Marvel Entertainment is all set to wow fans with a string of back-to-back releases. It has already upped the ante with its two blockbusters — Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 and Spider-Man: Homecoming — which released this year. Its upcoming venture Thor: Ragnarok, the third film installment based around the Norse God of Thunder, is all set to release on 3 November. Image via Facebook[/caption] While the 2018 magnus opus _Avengers: Infinity War_ is touted to be the longest movie ever in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Thor: Ragnarok is reported to be the shortest, reports Collider. The film’s director, Taika Waititi, spoke to Collider, just after the launch of the latest trailer during the San Diego Comic-Con. He said, “The cut right now, I reckon it’s about 100 minutes. It’s not going to be a very, very long film. I think that stories are better when you leave them wanting more, and this film moves at a clip, it’s got stuff happening all the time. I think people are still going to feel exhausted by the end, they’ve been on this big journey and stuff, so I don’t think we need the film to be three hours.” So far, most of the Marvel flicks have had a run-time of around 120 minutes (give or take a few minutes). The 2008 film, The Incredible Hulk, starring Edward Norton is by far the shortest Marvel movie with a run-time of 112 minutes. Thor Ragnarok is the third movie of the Thor franchise after Thor (2011) and Thor: The Dark World (2013). It stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Cate Blanchett (Hela, the Goddess of Death), Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk), Tess Thompson (Valkyrie), Anthony Hopkins (Odin) and Benedict Cumberbatch (special appearance as Dr Strange).
