THIS actress reportedly dated Akshay Kumar, married at peak of her career, quit acting but got divorced after few years

In Bollywood, we have seen several actresses leaving showbiz at the peak of their careers to get married and settle down in their life. Well, one of them is Pooja Batra, who acted in a lot of films like Virasat, Bhai, Kahin Pyaar Na Ho Jaaye, Haseena Maan Jaayegi, and Talaash: The Hunt Begins. She also made a brief appearance in the 2015 dance film ABCD 2. She was crowned Femina Miss India International 1993. There were also reports she was in a relationship with  Akshay Kumar  but no confirmation was made about the same. She tied the knot with USA-based Dr Sonu Ahluwalia in 2002 but the couple announced their divorce nearly a decade later. She then tied the knot with Don 2 and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag actor Nawab Shah.

Back in 2019, in an interview with Bombay Times, Pooja Batra said that the Arya Samaj wedding ceremony was performed in Delhi on 4 July. The ceremony was attended by their families and close friends. She tells the daily, “Our loved ones kept asking us why we were delaying it (the marriage). I was simply going with the flow, but then I realised that he is the man I want to spend the rest of my life with, and there is no point in delaying it any further.” She added that their marriage would be registered this week. Even before they started dating, Pooja knew of Nawab due to their professions. However, the duo were re-introduced by a common friend in February, following which they ‘hit off instantly.’ She adds that they decided to take the plunge since both the actors are “emotionally and intellectually compatible.” On Eid, the couple had announced their relationship on Instagram. Nawab shared a picture and wrote, “It took 46 years for my soul to be ready and then my mate appeared. Eid Mubarak, soulmate.”
