The wrath of Khan: Did Salman and Aamir's friendship just end in tears?

Apparently, dost, dost na raha. If the latest rumour is to be believed, our favourite Amar-Prem (even their screen names from Andaz Apna Apna suggest immortal love, sigh) are no longer besties, and Salman Khan and Aamir Khan are back to being rivals. According to this Yahoo Movies report, the spat started at a party held at Aamir Khan’s Bandra residence last month. At the time Dangal, in which the actor plays a wrestler, hadn’t hit the floors yet and Salman Khan was prepping for Sultan, in which he also plays a wrestler. Image from IBN Live.[/caption] It seems Aamir, who reportedly cried after seeing Bajrangi Bhaijaan, went on to “dissect Salman’s career” often referring to some of his movie choices as ‘bad decisions’ and adding that if he showed some maturity in the past, he would have had better films to his credit. The report further states that Aamir went on to point out that Salman Khan doesn’t require a screenplay or any hard work as the audience “laps up” anything he does. Ouch. According to another report , Salman, apparently not one to take things lightly, “shot back with the choicest of expletives” even calling Aamir ‘fake’. The Bajrangi Bhaijaan star reportedly said that even though he doesn’t work hard, he at least gives his writers and directors credit. Reportedly, the evening in question ended in tears, and given his record , we’ll let you guess whose tears they were.

This comes as quite a shocker after many reports of their growing friendship over the years. Just a couple of months ago Aamir Khan was seen praising Bajrangi Bhaijaan on social media , and last year, he even attended Salman’s sister’s wedding in Hyderabad, where the two reportedly partied all night. Aamir’s exact words at the time were , “I don’t need an invite for Arpita’s wedding. Salman ki behen, matlab meri behen (Salman’s sister is like my sister)”. The two Khans have famously spoken about their friendship , while also promoting each others film. Salman had promoted Dhoom 3 and  PK while hosting Big Boss , and Aamir, who isn’t much of a Twitter user, has repeatedly tweeted about Salman’s films ( from Kick to Jai Ho)
