Original Chand Nawab requests Salman 'bhaijaan' to compensate him for being an inspiration

In a surprising turn of events, Pakistani journalist Chand Nawab on whom the character of Nawazauddin Siddiqui was based in Bajrangi Bhaijaan has requested none other than Salman Khan for compensation. Thanking Salman Khan for considering him worthy enough to be made into a role in the movie, Nawab made the appeal for compensation. “I am a poor journalist and don’t want to deal with the legalities, but I expect Khan to give me a compensation for using me as an inspiration for a character,” he told Gulf News The video in question which seemed to have inspired Nawazauddin Siddiqui’s role, was uploaded on Youtube on 8 December 2008 and films the journalist struggling to conclude his news report as passer-bys kept on interrupting him. He finally managed to complete the report after several tries, but not after calling names to passersby interrupting him in a bid to finish recording. Though the video went viral, it also shortened his career in journalism. Elaborating on his request, Nawab said,“This is about Pakistan’s respect, my intention is not to mint money, it’s simply a request,” reported The Express Tribune. He also added that this could be the beginning of his film career. All eyes are now on the benevolent Salman Khan- Will he be the bajrangi bhaijaan for Chand Nawab and fulfill Nawab’s request?
