The La La Land parody race: Watch David Lynch's version vs the 8-bit game
La La Land is now a stalker film where Ryan Gosling stalks Emma Watson.
After La La Land swept all the awards at the Golden Globes, it has become the strongest contender for the Oscars 2017. The dreamy love story works wonders as a musical. But, combine La La Land's colourful cheer with David Lynch's surreal style, and you've got yourself an undeniably creepy movie.
A part of Cinefax's 'Trailer Mix' series, the trailer shows what the film would be like had David Lynch directed it. Ryan Gosling stars as a ruthless stalker tracking down a horrified Emma Stone.
The clip's YouTube description puts the creator's intent perfectly:
"Everyone knows that La La Land is the feel-good, singing and dancing movie of the year. And with Damien Chazelle nominated for Best Director in this weekend's Academy Awards, we wondered what the film would look like with an entirely different director and tone. This episode of Trailer Mix brings you a darker, more surrealist version courtesy of David Lynch."
If that was too macabre, here is the classic 8-bit game of the film which takes you to the good ol' 90s.
