The House is full again! First teaser of Netflix’s Fuller House is a nostalgia trip

Attention 90s kids, the first teaser for Fuller House, the reboot of Full House, is here and it will take you on a pleasant trip down the memory lane. For many 1990s kids in India, _Full Hous_e was our initiation into American television. Before we were old enough to watch Friends and after we grew tired of Disney Hour, the light-hearted story of three sisters raised by three men was the ‘English show’ to watch, with the re-runs being telecast daily. While the re-runs eventually ended and the Olsen twins grew up in the stereotyped child star manner, we continued to fondly remember the show as part of our childhood. [caption id=“attachment_2550568” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  Fuller House, Screengrab[/caption] Now, almost twenty years after the show ended, the extended Tanner family is back again — thanks to Netflix. The first teaser is out and it tells us that the much-awaited reboot will hit our computer screens on 26 February. The teaser begins with the familiar site of the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge and the front door of the Tanner residence — just like the original opening credits. We then see the empty shots of the Tanner kitchen and living room and the couch doesn’t seem to have changed even one bit. However, the teaser doesn’t show any member of the Tanner family, except a dog that looks very similar to Comet. But we do hear the bantering voices of DJ, Stephanie, Uncle Jesse, Joey, Danny, and Kimmy as they try to scramble inside the house, as the dog waits patiently, just like us. It ends with the line ‘The House is Full again’. All of this is played with the perfectly fitting song, The House That Built Me by Miranda Lambert. Set years after the girls have grown up and left the nest, Fuller House will follow the story of DJ, the eldest tanner daughter and much of the original cast, with the notable exception of Micheal (played by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen) will be part of the show. Here’s the official synopsis of the show according to Netflix : In Fuller House, the adventures that began in 1987 on Full House continue, with veterinarian DJ Tanner-Fuller (Cameron-Bure) pregnant and recently widowed, living in San Francisco. DJ’s younger sister/aspiring musician Stephanie Tanner (Sweetin) and DJ’s lifelong best friend/fellow single mother Kimmy Gibbler (Barber), along with Kimmy’s feisty teenage daughter Ramona, all move in to help take care of DJ’s two boys – the rebellious 12-year-old JD and neurotic 7-year-old Max – and her soon-to-arrive baby. Three single women raising three babies, now doesn’t that sound comfortingly familiar! “Gosh it feels good to be back," we hear one of the characters say and we could not agree more.
