The Ghazi Attack first look: Rana Daggubati looks rugged and confident as a naval officer
Rana Daggubati turns 32 on Wednesday, 14 December 2016. In order to celebrate the occasion, Dharma Productions has released the actor's look from his upcoming film under the banner, The Ghazi Attack.
Daggubati plays a naval officer in the film and looks dashing in a rugged yet confident avatar in the navy uniform. The Indian Express reports that he plays an executive naval officer who remained underwater along with his team for 18 days while at war with Pakistan during 1971. The film revolves around the mysterious sinking of PNS Ghazi, a Pakistan submarine during the Indo-Pak War 1971.
Also, The Ghazi Attack is being touted as the first Indian underwater war film, as per a Times of India report. The adventure film is directed by debutante dirctor Sankalp Reddy and is based on his book Blue Fish. After launching filmmaking talent like Tarun Mansukhani, Punit Malhotra, Shakun Batra and Karan Malhotra, filmmaker Karan Johar is all set to launch another director in Reddy.
Johar was also planning to acquire the Hindi distribution rights of the sequel of Baahubali: The Beginning, Baahubali: The Conclusion but backed out because he could not afford the astronomical price demanded by the producers. Nonetheless, Johar now has another Daggubati film to mint money from.
The Telugu star has appeared in only three Hindi films before. His debut Hindi film was Rohan Sippy's 2011 crime drama Dum Maaro Dum, followed by Ram Gopal Verma's action flick Department. Other than the meaty roles in these two films, Daggubati also did a cameo in Ayan Mukerji's romantic comedy from 2013, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani which was produced by Johar.
