Farooq Sheikh, one of the doyens of parallel cinema in India who gave cine-goers some of the best portrayals of the aam aadmi, passed away following a heart attack in Dubai in the wee hours of Saturday. Shocked colleagues from the film industry who spoke to him as recently as three days ago and Bollywood fans paid tributes on micro-blogging site Twitter.
