Thanks to Mumbai's traffic cops, Jerry Seinfeld's show may not take place at NSCI

Not everyone in Mumbai may have heard about or watched Seinfeld, but that makes the comedian no less a legend. Much hoopla has been going down ever since the news of Jerry Seinfeld’s India visit broke. However, while fans are busy preparing for a fun night at the NSCI in Mumbai, it seems the organisers are having a hard time sorting out parking issues with the traffic police. According to a Mumbai Mirror report, the traffic police has said that they will only let the event take place at NSCI until the organisers show that they have enough parking space for about 5,000 people. The CEO of Only Much Louder, Vijay Nair told Mumbai Mirror that they have made parking arrangements at Atria Mall, so that the police don’t have to deal with unwanted traffic jams. “We have done 10 to 12 events at the NSCI in the past and parking should not be a problem.” While the traffic police is adamant to not allow the show to take place at NSCI if the organisers don’t have enough parking space, NSCI secretary Rakesh Malhotra is  miffed. Malhotra, according to the Mumbai Mirror report, lashed out at the police asking, if 1000 parking slots aren’t enough to host an event in Mumbai, then where can one possibly host events which provide more parking space? The Jerry Seinfeld show is scheduled to happen on 14-15 March, however, whether it will take place at NSCI or the venue will change will only be decided after traffic police examine parking facilities and grant permission to the organisers.
