Remember Phoebe Buffay’s blockbuster song performed at the Central Perk coffee shop in Friends? No not ‘The Woman Smelled Like Garbage’ or ‘Crazy Underwear’, we are talking about the iconic ‘Smelly Cat’. That’s right the super-hit number she performs with a guitar and a little help from her friends in the typical off-key Pheobe style. Admit it, fans of the show have sang aloud the song at least once because it is so ridiculously hilarious. What a fantastic moment it must be! Guess what? It actually happened at the singer’s 1989 World Tour concert at at the Los Angeles Staples Centre! Swift introduced her next co-performer as some one who had only performed at coffee shops before and behold, out came Lisa Kudrow (but don’t we prefer to call her Phoebe!) along with her guitar. The two then performed Smelly Cat together with Phoebe actually teaching Swift to ‘feel the lyrics’ and sing. And we must say Swift did quite a decent job of ‘feeling the lyrics’ that go something like this (feel free to singalong): Smelly cat, Smelly Cat, What are they feeding you? Smelly Cat, Smelly Cat, It’s not your fault! They won’t take you to the vet, You’re obviously not their favorite pet, You may not be a bed of roses You’re no friend to those with noses! I promise you before we’re done All the world will smell as one! As expected, the internet went berserk over this unlikely but amazing combined performance. Kudrow herself was all praise for Swift calling her the est! (Sorry Phoebe, but we disagree, you are the best!)
