Suriya's first look from NGK revealed; may play rebel leader in Selvaraghavan-directed film
The first-look poster of NGK is wacky with Suriya sporting coolers and thick beard like Che Guevara. The hands at the bottom of the poster also hint that the film would highlight communism-based ideologies.
Suriya announced the title and unveiled the first look poster of his magnum opus with maverick director Selvaraghavan on 5 March on Twitter.

Selvaraghavan's films are known to have pure Tamil names, hence the title NGK comes as a total surprise for his fans. The first-look poster is wacky with Suriya sporting coolers and thick beard like Che Guevara. The hands at the bottom of the poster also hint that the film would highlight communism-based ideologies.
The makers of the film refuse to divulge any more details but they have confirmed that NGK is Suriya's character name.
The poster itself looks like a graffiti, a popular art form used to convey political and social messages. Produced by Dream Warrior Pictures and Reliance Entertainment, the second schedule of the film will soon kick-start in Chennai.
NGK’s art director Vijay Murugan has constructed a massive set worth Rs 3 crore. Initially, the team wanted to shoot the second schedule in Ambasamudram (a town in south of Tamil Nadu), but considering the practical difficulties, they have recreated the streets and houses of a particular locality of the town in Chennai.
More than 220 workers have toiled day and night to construct the set. Team NGK will be shooting on the newly constructed set for twenty days. The film has two heroines including Sai Pallavi and Rakul Preet Singh, who are also said to have a strong scope to perform.
Sivakumar Vijayan, the talented cinematographer who got critical acclaim for his works in Sudha Kongara’s Irudhi Suttru and Karthik Subbaraj’s Iraivi, is cranking the camera for NGK.
Composer Yuvan Shankar Raja and director Selvaraghavan have delivered many musical hits in the past including Thulluvatho Ilamai, Kadhal Kondein, 7G Rainbow Colony and Aadavari Mataluku Arthale Verule. In a recent chat with fans, Yuvan revealed that NGK will be a landmark film for Selvaraghavan. The composer has also finalized the intro theme music of Suriya in the film.
The producers of the film have been repeatedly stressing that NGK will simultaneously release in Tamil and Telugu on Diwali.
After completing NGK, Suriya has a film with cinematographer-turned-actor KV Anand with whom the actor has previously worked in Ayan and Maatrraan. Suriya is also planning to produce and play the lead role in Irudhi Suttru director Sudha Kongara’s action thriller by the end of this year.
