The plot begins with Sunny (Varun Dhawan) in Baahubali’s avatar and his friend Bantu (Abhinav Sharma) as Katappa from the movie, gearing up for a special moment as the former is set to propose to his girlfriend, Ananya (Sanya Malhotra). However, she rejects his marriage proposal, saying that her parents have arranged her marriage with Vikram Singh (Rohit Saraf), who belongs to a royal and wealthy family.

Sunny gets shattered, but through Bantu, he comes to know that Vikram also recently broke up with Tulsi (Janhvi Kapoor) to marry Ananya. Now, Sunny and Tulsi plan to break their marriage by pretending to be a couple during their pre-wedding festivities. However, things get complicated when the duo unknowingly start falling for each other. What will happen next? Will they chase their lovers and express their feelings to each other?

Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari explores several societal and Gen Z dynamics, like marrying a person of your stature, a woman sacrificing her ambitions and situationship and blends them with humour, heart, and relevant storytelling.

Khaitan, like his previous films, smoothly combines the love story with comical punches and witty one-liners to take the entertainment quotient to another level. While the first half is breezy and filled with laughter moments, a couple of melodramatic sequences make the second half a bit draggy. However, the entertainment quotient remains high due to the palpable chemistry between the leads and smart writing.

Talking about the performances, Varun Dhawan carries his own charm with innocence and swag, while Janhvi shines in her nuanced portrayal. Rohit and Sanya also contribute amply with their relevant and layered characters. Maniesh Paul and Abhinav Sharma tickle you silly with their comic timing, while Oberoi does a decent job in his limited screentime.

On the whole, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is a fun entertainer filled with humour, heart and romance.
