The other upcoming adaptations of Stephen King’s works are Firestarter and Castle Rock. Oscar-winner Akiva Goldsman and Jason Blum are working on a remake of Stephen King’s classic Firestarter. The book it is based on follows a young girl with pyrokinetic abilities, which enable her to create and control fire with the mind. A secret government agency later abducts her and tries to use her gift as a weapon.

Streaming service Hulu will be adapting Castle Rock, which will be developed by Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason. The show will begin production later this year, and will star P’ennywise’ actor Bill Skarsgard. Recently, King’s novel It was adapted into a film starring Jaeden Lieberher, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Wyatt Oleff. This film tells the story of seven young outcasts growing up in the township of Derry, Maine, who call themselves the Losers’ Club. Each of them has been ostracised for one reason or another; each has a target on their back from the local pack of bullies and all have seen their inner fears come to life in the form of an ancient shape-shifting predator called ‘It’.
