An illegal ramp that Shah Rukh Khan was using to park his vanity van outside his bungalow Mannat, was demolished by BMC last month. A notice has now been sent to the actor seeking to recover costs of the demolition. According to this report by Mid-day, the fee for the demolition, approximately Rs 2 lakh, must be payed by the actor under Section 489(1) of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation (MMC) Act. Khan will have to pay the fine by Thursday. The ramp, which was built adjacent to his house, was causing severe traffic issues around Mount Mary Road in Bandra. In view of the safety and convenience of citizens, I request you to undertake demolition of the illegal ramp,” the letter stated, according to Deccan Herald. A notice was sent to the actor to remove the ramp, and when there no response from his side, the demolition was carried out. Khan, who is currently shooting in Nepal, was ready to bear the demolition charges, and was waiting for the BMC to send him an official notice. “We have sent a notice to pay for the demolition of the ramp since it was illegal. If he fails to pay the amount within seven days, we will add it to his property tax. The notice has been issued Under Section 489(1) of the MMC Act, which states that if an illegal structure is demolished, the concerned person should pay for it," said a senior officer from H-West (Bandra, Khar) in the Mid-day report.
