Sridevi passes away: Ram Gopal Varma cancels title announcement of Nagarjuna starrer in 'grief stricken moment'
Director Ram Gopal Varma, known to be an ardent admirer of Sridevi, cancelled the title announcement of his upcoming project with actor Nagarjuna.

He had directed her in Telugu films Kshana Kshanam and Govinda Govinda. The latter also starred Nagarjuna. Varma had also based his 1999 film Mast on his own admiration and fandom for Sridevi. “My journey to Sridevi started when I was preparing for my debut film Shiva. I used to walk from Nagarjuna’s office in Chennai to a neighbouring street where Sridevi used to live and I used to just stand and watch Sridevi’s house from outside her gate,” said the director. Shambana Azmi also announced the cancellation of the annual Holi party she hosts with husband Javed Akhtar.

The shoot of a song for the movie 102 Not Out, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor, has been cancelled too. Both Bachchan and Kapoor have been Sridevi’s co-stars in the past and the scheduled song titled 'Baadduummbaa' was penned by Bachchan himself.
Sridevi, a powerhouse of a performer and India’s first female superstar is remembered for her memorable performances in Sadma, Mr India, Chandni and English Vinglish. Her last appearance on screen will be Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming Zero posthumously.
