Spider-Man: Homecoming will take the story forward from Captain America: Civil War, in the marvel cinematic universe. Having been initiated into superhero-ism, Tom Holland who plays the character of Peter Parker a.k.a Spider-Man, will be seen balancing his life as a college student in Queens, New York and battling the baddies in the capacity of Spider-Man in the film. He will also be seen locking horns with a formidable antagonist in The Vulture.

Spider-Man: Homecoming also stars Robert Downey Jr, Michael Keaton, Tony Revolori, Donald Glover and Zendaya. It will be directed by Jon Watts. Although the movie will release in India on 7 July, here are a few of the reviews that Spider-Man: Homecoming has garnered from international critics.

Benjamin Lee from The Guardian writes:

"The refreshing joy of Spider-Man: Homecoming is that it’s a relatively self-contained piece of entertainment. Sure, it exists very much within the Avengers canon, but a finely crafted script builds the bridges with care, and storytelling rather than cold commercialism is apparently the film’s key concern. Holland is sensational: funny, awkward and believably vulnerable, adding a necessary tension to his early attempts at superheroics."

Owen Gleiberman from Variety writes:

Spider-man Homecoming tells its audience: This kid isn’t quite super — he’s just like you. Ant-Man did the same thing (and out of the Marvel zone, so did the Kick-Ass movies), but we’ve never seen a character as mythical as Spider-Man portrayed in such a user-friendly, sanded-down, After School Special way."

John DeFore from The Hollywood Reporter writes:

"Where Garfield's Peter Parker displayed a believable 21st-century angst, we return largely to the character's wide-eyed roots with Tom Holland, whose performance is thoroughly winning even when the script isn't helping him. (With no fewer than six writers credited on the screenplay, could we not have had more of the wisecracks for which the teen crime fighter is famous?)"
