Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety box office collection: With Rs 6.42 crore, film registers third highest opening of 2018

Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, starring Kartik Aaryan, Luv Ranjan, and Nushrat Bharucha, has registered a solid opening at the box office as per news reports.

The movie, which also stars Sunny Singh, was released on 1,650 screens with 5,020 shows a day. Off this, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety earned Rs 6.42 crore at the box office on its opening day.

With a good opening, the film has emerged as the third best opener of the year behind Deepika Padukone's Padmaavat and Akshay Kumar's Padman. In fact, the morning show occupancy of the film was better than Padman, but due to a lower screen count it earned the status of the third best opener.

Talking about the film's good opening day, senior trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and wrote the following:

The movie is expected to add substantially to its collections at the box-office over the weekend.
