The BMC-imposed four-day meat ban in Mumbai may be religious sentiment-based and unfair on many grounds, but Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor chose to label it as ‘misogynistic’ on Twitter and as expected, several users jumped at the opportunity to troll her. [caption id=“attachment_2425510” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Sonam Kapoor in a file photo. PTI[/caption] Sharing a story about the meat ban in Mumbai, Sonam said that India will remain a third world country “because of the intolerant misogynistic close minded few.” When it was pointed out that a ban on meat is not necessarily misogynistic, Sonam continued to defend her stand and went on to have heated conversations with several users on Twitter. The contrary responses clearly didn’t go down very well with her because she ended up calling everybody who replied to her ‘assholes’ and ‘moron’. Check out the hilarious thread of tweets below

— Mithun Koppal (@mithunkoppal) September 8, 2015
@hankypanty it was a critique of the general mentality.. Not just related to the meat ban.. This exact judgmental bullshit fucks us.
— Sonam K Ahuja (@sonamakapoor) September 8, 2015
@Poulastya I was talking about our general mentality not only related to one ban!!!
— Sonam K Ahuja (@sonamakapoor) September 8, 2015
@Silent_budhha sir it was a critique of the general mentality not exclusive to the meat ban.. But please go on and judge.
— Sonam K Ahuja (@sonamakapoor) September 8, 2015
@Bunga_Bunga_69 this is the exact misogynistic mentality I was talking about.. Name calling doesn't make you smarter.
— Sonam K Ahuja (@sonamakapoor) September 8, 2015
She then went on to make a forceful statement on general mentality and woman calling others bimbos.
Before being judgmental assholes. What I said was a critique of the general mentality .. Which is not exclusive to the banning of meat.
— Sonam K Ahuja (@sonamakapoor) September 8, 2015
And the saddest thing about this whole thing is.. That it's mostly women who are calling me out on being bimbo. Guess it's not only the men!
— Sonam K Ahuja (@sonamakapoor) September 8, 2015
@GibberishWolfie no madam.. But please don't be so quick to judge.. I've really suffered because of that.
— Sonam K Ahuja (@sonamakapoor) September 8, 2015

— Sonam K Ahuja (@sonamakapoor) September 8, 2015
Soon, even Chetan Bhagat, another favorite target of Twitter trolls jumped in to support Sonam
Even she is getting slammed for having non-partisan, non-religious view about freedom. Glad she holds her ground. https://t.co/I0iUekKgiD
— Chetan Bhagat (@chetan_bhagat) September 8, 2015
@sonamakapoor because they have nothing logical to argue with you. And u scare them. For they r afraid to speak their mind unlike you.
— Chetan Bhagat (@chetan_bhagat) September 8, 2015
Sonam then ended the topic with a throwaway tweet implying that since she is known for her fashion sense, that’s what she should talk about.
Well I guess it's back to talking about fashion and brands.. Lol
