Sonakshi Sinha in talks to be cast opposite Saif Ali Khan in Nikhil Advani's Batla House film
Nikhil Advani has almost confirmed that joining Saif in his upcoming project will be none other than Sonakshi Sinha.
A couple of months ago, reports emerged of Saif Ali Khan being roped in to play the lead role in Nikkhil Advani’s next film Batla House. Inspired from the real life incident of the Batla House encounter, this film would see Saif Ali Khan portraying the role of a police officer Mohan Chand Sharma who lost his life in the encounter.
Now Nikhil Advani has almost confirmed, according to Mumbai Mirror, that joining Saif in his upcoming project will be none other than Sonakshi Sinha.
“Sonakshi and I had been in talks for another film revolving around a real life incident in which she’s been paired opposite Saif (Ali Khan). I was comfortable with her so once Ranjit’s script was complete, I shared it with her. She showed interest during the narration, we are now waiting for her final revert,” Advani revealed.
While the duo, Saif Ali Khan and Sonakshi Sinha did well in Bullet Raja, the makers of Batla House believe Sonakshi is the ideal choice alongside the actor.
Considering the film’s premise is an incident that had literally stunned the nation Sonakshi gave her nod to this project right away since she was quite impressed with the script, revealed a source.
The Batla House encounter best known as Operation Batla House was carried out on September 19, 2008, against Indian Mujahideen terrorists in Batla House locality in Jamia Nagar, Delhi. Two suspected terrorists were gunned down; two other suspects were arrested, while one accused escaped that day. Encounter specialist and Delhi Police inspector Mohan Chand Sharma, who led the police action was shot dead during the incident.
Saif Ali Khan right now has his hands full with two films namely Kaalakandi and Bazaar. Meanwhile, Sonakshi Sinha who was last seen in Noor is gearing up for her next venture which is a remake of 1969 murder mystery Ittefaq.
